Thanks to Omid "BIAS" Rahmat for writing two nonsense articles (Stop Smothering AMD). His articles are full of Intel biased words. He tried to write aginst extremists. But he can only see AMD "fanboys" or "chiptroopers". He didn't write a single word for Intel "fanboys" as if they don't exist.

Intel has a greater market share over AMD and also has a greater number of "fanboys". The major difference between Intel "fanboys" and AMD "fanboys" it that Intel fanboys don't care about logic. Intel is simply best to them. When poor performing Willamette P4's were being marketed, they claimed it best without any points, neither solid performance nor price/performance ratio. Now 2.53 GHz P4 is the best performing cpu in the market. But it has a very poor price/performance ratio. It's nothing to Intel fanboys.

Intel fanboys are always very good at mocking people for buying AMD cpu. It doesn't matter if it is K6-2 or Athlon/Duron. I used a K6-2 450 MHz for two years and now use a Duron 1.0 GHz cpu (w/ DDR RAM & nForce chipset) . Both these cpus were rubbish to my Intel user friends as they differ much in performace compared to similar Intel cpus.(K6-2 is inferior than PII and saometimes Celeron and Duron "Morgan" w/DDR RAM is as good as PIII)

I can conclude this post with a slogan "Down with Omid Rahmat, Long live THG."

N.B.:

I have another post about Omid's these articles. It's titled "Who is next 3Dfx?" Please check it.

Isn't there any Intel fanboys?

More importantly, does anyone care? Do you? DO YOU?!

Slowdown? What slowdown? Didn't you know this was a slideshow?

You want Omid to write another article about Intel Fanboys? I dont understand? Equal time maybe? You misunderstood the article. Problem w/ AMD's fanboys, is theyre representing a large percentage of the AMD consumers. Not that theyre any better or worse than Intel fanboys. It wasnt an attack on all extreme bias. Intel fanboys arent really populating the forums as much as AMD's are. When I first started reading these forums it was an AMD love fest. People like AMDMeltdown would be heroes if he was trolling for the popular Chip manu. It's a little more balanced, but theres still a lot of die hard AMD people here......still outnumbering Intel users. Look at the polls at HardOCP. That will show you who is dominating the readership of hardware sites. AMD has a hold of the enthusiast market, great job, nice niche. Enthusiasts have a loud voice when it comes to future hardware/PC computing.....That could translate into future customers by word of mouth...like the article states, its all the marketing they have. But when the enthusiast voice says "My chip burnt", "Via isnt stable", "I buy AMD cause Intel is evil", "AMD are good guys, and Intel are bad guys", "t-bred will have a PR of +2800", "Barton will have a PR of +2800"......"AMD is a great bargain chip" <--Kiss of death. Want a chip that's the hyundai of procs?(not knocking the quality, it's an association thing). There's examples that we've all seen plenty of times in the past, all said by AMD users. Hear it enough, and you just associate the product w/ those negatives. And not to mention the hostile tones theyre delivered in.

This sig runs too hot.

Erg, this is a reply to the origional poster, not LED.

I used to be, sort of, till i found the error of my ways...

Now i'm firmly planted on the sidelines watching the war to see who has the best product for me whenver i need to buy a new part..

Don't give a damn who's better anymore, I'll buy whatevers got the best price/performance/compatibility ratio.

I've never anyone mock someone for buying an AMD cpu...I've seen dozenz of people mocked here and elsewhere in the past for buying p4's though, myself included.

I find this origional post offensive and hypocritical in the utmost.

"I find this origional post offensive and hypocritical in the utmost"

He missed the point of both articles and took it as a personal attack, or an attack on his favorite chip maker.

Whichever was your opinion, I will answer this however: We got a fanboy here, Meltdown, simple and true!

Yet another rabid fanboy. Everything has to be favorable otherwise they turn and completely change the subject. When's the last Intel fanboy you saw in the forums who's either mocked someone for buying an AMD chip or refered to AMD as evil as if there were any good-willed corporations? Now take that number and multiply it by 100 and that's the AMD fanboys in this and many many other forums. Mob mentality I guess.

Reply to imgod2u

Are you saying I'm a fanboy, as well as most of the people here?

Meltdown makes sure people who buy an AMD system get the "Meltdown Treatment", insults them, says their chips will burn, bla bla bla...

To be honest I don't see so many AMD fanboys in this forum, and certainly none right now actively acting like ChipTroopers.

Now I only read the first two posts (no offence to anyone whose post I did not read, I repect most of you guys(yes, even LED).

Omid's article was not only about the fanboys, it was about AMD and what they should do to improve their market share.
It was saying the largest number of customers for AMD are the so called AMD fanboys who AMD cannot survive on alone, unless they were to buy several chips each every year.

He also attacked these so called chiptroopers, not just AMD's chiptroopers ALL OF THEM, every chiptrooper in the world, (AMD, INTEL, TRANSMETA), they do nothing but cause havoc in forums like this one.

If you had an opinion about these articles you should have posted it in the Stop Smothering AMD part 2 thread.

I am not saying your opinion does not matter but, I don't like people who start arguements on these forums, if only we could round up these "chiptroopers" and launch them into the sun. This would mean casual rational discussions on these boards. Oh I could only dream..........

You have barely come here, haven't you? Remember <b><i>AMDMeltdown</b></i>?

 Good or Bad have no meaning at all, depends on what your point of view is.

This place is AMD all the way! AMDMeltdown is a TROLL! Don't confuse him w/ a fanboy. Actually it's not as bad as it used to be. The mention of an AMD shortcoming would have em all over ya within minutes...Theres not much left for them to hold on to. Now most of their talk is of the Barton and its +25243525 rating, and the messiah of chips, the Hammer. High hopes and speculation. What do you see more of around here? "whats the hammer FSB" "Whats the Bartons PR"......Or do you see "P4 scaling to 5mhz!" "Prescott is the bomb!"?....They have hope, but not many arguments left. Watch them scurry when you ask a tough question lol

Troll or not, troll is when he continues to spread FUD around, and that includes a fanboyism or ChipTrooper within him. I'll be damned if he ever recommends an AMD system.

I think the good reason for the AMD chat is well in my opinion is due to the fact Intel is doing well, theyt are prosperous and have been for a long time. There is not much to talk about with Intel.

However AMD is a company struggling to stay in the processor market, like a bad soap opera it draws interest, from everyone.

Also everyone supports the underdog (AMD)it is always like that and always will be, why do you think the englanish football team always has supporters :-P. (before you ask yes I am British).

then you will continue looking like the a$$ that you are.

I asked you to go fetch a post were you say I did this: <i>"Meltdown makes sure people who buy an AMD system get the "Meltdown Treatment", insults them, says their chips will burn, bla bla bla..."</i>

if you read that tread again you'll notice that the guy already has burnt his pos AMD brittle cpu.

frankly, I think that you are far too stupid to even find one out of a "tons of troll posts".

but keep trying.

A: you on a differenct screen name or
B: a moron.

Carry on with your pointless empty defence trollboy.

I didn't find any insults in that thread. Yes he trolls often but I've never once seen Meltdown outright insult someone. He makes fun of AMD Cpu's because they fry in seconds and crack like a eggshell. Yes it is due to user error 90% of the time but show me once when he has lied. In fact he provides constant links to back up his statements which is more than most people on this forum. If you ask me most newbs who build Athlon Rigs need a little FUD while they are putting together their systems. It might keep'em from getting careless and slapping on their heatsink backwards, or doing a quick test to see if thier system will power up before they put a heatsink on.

Beauty is in the eye of the beer holder.

I distinctly recall once he told people not to listen to Canadians because (get this!), in Canada supposedly it is chilly, so to him, people owning Athlons in Canada, would have a very biased and inaccurate opinion about their CPUs, and thus when they recommend to someone an Athlon, and claim the temps are low, they shouldn't listen to us, cuz we are Canadians, biased freaks in the cold! (when maybe in reality the expected temps would have been SO MUCH HIGER, as usualy by Melty's exaggerational trolling on AMD)

the step of mmy DIY--choice a fit mobo(for amd or intel),then choice a cpu,I don't care which of them will be set on my mobo,as long as the "price/performance/compatibility ratio" of the whole system is good ,don't you think so

Reply to kevin_cjh

Personally, I feel that the forum should be seperated into two Intel and AMD, one other forum (I can't remember which) does this and it keeps the peace. (Even better is that It could mean that I never have to read another melty thread/reply again yey!)

I would just like to add something:
AMDmeltdown doesn't insult anyone directly no, he just keeps giving us information we already know, nearly everyone know AMD cpu's are fragile and they also know they run hot. AMD you sound like a broken record, change the track plz, oh look Via have just released a new CPU, lets find out what is wrong with it shall we?

People have also been complaining about via recently, now I see that in the CPU market they are where AMD was upto 5 years ago, maybe Via will eventually release their own athlon and P4 whipping CPU?
Also about Via people seem to have the same stigma about VIA as they do AMD, I have had a VIA MB and an ALI MB, the VIA one has been very stable, and quite solid, the ALI MB was awful, it crashed and did not boot sometimes.

Every company goes through a rough patch, they made a mistake in the past get over it, if no-one trusted a company who have made a couple iof mistakes then there would be no economy.

Can someone translate that to english please?

Not sure where the heck this thread is going... There's no point to here, anywhere.

I maintain that no one should give a rats arse what some guy 2000 miles away says on a forum that he went out and bought. Buy what you feel is the best for you and the whole fanboy crusade dies immediately.
