Hello all,

I am looking for a rather outrageously spec'd laptop for the following purpose:

ArcGis/ERSI
Cad
Photoshop
Illustrator

All of which will be running simultaneously along with many many many more programs. I also will need Windows7 and a large screen most likely around 17 inches or bigger.

I would like recommendations for Makes and specific models for laptops that support 32gb of RAM and 4gb GPU. I am thinking of Radeon 6990M 2gb crossfire configuration. I will consider Nvidia as well. Most likely would like an i7 CPU but am open to suggestions. I would strongly prefer the primary drive to be on SSD with around 120 to 250 GB size minimum. I would like another 1 terabyte (minimum) as a secondary spinning drive for storage.

PRICE: This is for my career so its a long term financial investment for me. I am willing to spend what is necessary.

Aluminum chassis are pretty nice too.

Thank you for your time!

Hi SlightlyDerailed,
Considering your post is almost two months old, you may have already purchased a new laptop. Regardless, I found your post because I'm of in the same mindset as you and looking for a powerhouse laptop. Although I haven't used AutoCAD in many years now, I'm what you might call an IT extreme power user. My main desire is to be able to run multiple virtual machines at the same time in order to simulate and work out configurations for multi-server solutions. Anyway, here is what I found during my research. If you have already purchased a laptop, I would appreciate it if you wouldn't mind letting me know what you purchased and your thoughts on it.

Sincerely,

ATMME2
