time to upgrade ??

with the performance gains with memory and CPU speeds , I was wondering how much improvement that I'd really see if I upgraded my current system . currently i have , 1.1g 200fsb Athlon ,asus mobo kt133a chipset , 256/pc133 sdram, Geforce2 GTS/64mb video ,maxtor 40g /7200 HD , yamaha 24/10/40 cdrw . I was considering athlon xp 2200 , kt333 mobo ,512mb pc 2700 DDR , geforce4 4600. same other parts
any opinions , I mostly play games

If you play games then definitely wait three weeks for the R9700. It's up to 3X where you need it most (high res and Aniso and FSAA).

i would suggest waiting till x-mas, the new nvidia and ati cards will be out, and also the new 8x agp boards will also be out.

I wouldnt upgrade if i was you man....your comp is not THAT big of a p.o.s. Seriosly, just wait a few more months, gather up few more bucks somehow and get a whole new enchilada...there are good deals out there and there are tons of combinations to make a killer gaming rig for cheap (especially if u use some old components in your comp like your hardrive, your cd burner, your floppy....etc... your comp is pretty decent.
hey i have p3 600mhz with 384 ram and tnt2 and manage to play games like quake 3 and warcraft 3...

if you really want to get something out there, get a stick of memory but thats it

I would have to say with that system you will wanna wait till Christmas or early next year when the nv30 and the 9700 are out. Not to mention Clawhammer serial ata and possibly a new ddr. I don't know if ddr-2 will be out by then, but I don't think so.
