How is Refurbished Computer Systems?

I see pcmall.com internet shopping mall sells refurbished hewlett packard computers. (Not CPU only)
I wonder what refurbished means and if it's safe to buy.
Any comment is appreciated.

refurbrished could mean many things, usually it means used, broken/fixed, or even a return. I wouldn't suggest getting refurbrished, spend the extra 30 bucks and get the new one

Yeah refurbished is what jankphil says. However why would you wanna buy an HP anyways? Why not build your own, there are many guides on the net on how to build your own computer including one at tomshardware.
