hi,
I have two options for the same price,please help me to choose and remember I work in graphic design and 2d animation area.

1st choice: P4 1.6Ghz 256k + 2*256mb Kingston ddrram 333mhz

2nd choice: P4 1.8Ghz 512k + 1*512mb Transcend ddrram 333mhz

I have asusp4s533 mainboard and ati radeon 8500le 64mb gr.card

I will go with no doubt for 2nd choice. Really a better procesor, not only for the 200Mhz more, but specially for the 512k. P4 benefit a lot from extra L2. Also you will have the same amount of RAM and same speed, but in one module. This gives you more headroom for adding more RAM to your computer. Yes, the brand is not the same, but I don't know how well transcend DDR overclock or if you even plan to overclock it.

For instance, if I'm not wrong P4 1.8A is also a better overclocker than P4 1.6.

2nd Choice. And baldurga, the 1.6 he listed has 256 Cache, not the 1.6a, so its pitiful for OCing. Get the 1.8a

Why even consider the 1. option - I mean, if you don't mean to oc it.... =)

Yeah, I know. For this reason I have wrote 1.8a and 1.6 (without "a"). I don't know how far can go 1.6, but too much for sure ;-)
