Windows 7 500gb hard drive only showing 232gb

Hello,

I have to spare empty hard drives (windows is on an ssd), both are 500gb but as of today windows has decided they are both 232gb. Any ideas what has happened and how can I get back the rest of my space ?

Click Start (windows logo), right click on "Computer" and go to "Manage."

Once there, click on "Storage" and then "Disk Management."

Look at the disk(s) and check what the space is being used for. You might need to delete all of the partitions off of the disks and create a new partition.

both disks are blank, were showing nearly 500gb the other day and all of a sudden are showing 232gb !
