im dumb...building my first computer. I didnt know new p4 system mobos require special power supplies with 2 connectors.

Well i tried running everything and the mobo light would turn on, and the fan would spin for a second but nothing would go.

I finally found out its that my power supply is a old 235w and just wont work..

I haven't messed up my hardware (blown, shorted) have i by doing this? Im going out tomarrow to buy the new ps i just want to have some console that i didnt go and blow everything out in my system.

If you smell no burnt things and if it still does the same thing when you power it on, then you're fine.

You under-powered it, probably didn't hurt a thing.
