WTF is an AMD athlon XP SFF CPU....and why is it cooler running ????
I heard someone else mentioning it. It's suposedly a slower XP that runs at 100 MHZ Bus to reduce heat. Not sure exactly what it is though. Search AMDZone, they probably have more info on it.
There was indeed a rumor about some cool running Athlons. Some at 200MHZ FSB, and some kind of SpeedStep battery saving-style technologies, where CPU idles down often and lowers its speed. I am guessing it would definitly lower the power and heat but it would also make less performance. Still those could turn out nice overclockers.
Of course this is IF they exist! Though it would be odd that AMD hasn't brought them here....

hmm...well XbitLas has an article saying there only in Japan now and they run at 1.05-1.5 VCore...and only create a maximum of 35 Watts of heat disipation....and yes there only 200MHz FSB as far as i know now.......so I'd assume these would be REALLY good overclockers......i wanna know more though......thsi was the first tiem ive heard of this chip.....and there desktop chips to, not Mobiles....i wanna know more...anyone else got any info.....also wanna know why there only in japan.....
Cause everyone and their dog has a computer or mobile in Japan, and the craze there is to have it as fast, small, cool, and quiet as possible. The SFF, from what I've gathered, is something like Intel's LV and ULV mobile P3s. They are meant for the markets that demand the small and fast. But, I doubt those CPUs would OC faster, and they will probably carry a price premium. And they are not in the US because we love everything to be big, loud, and powerful. Not exactly the market niche that the SFF is going for.
