This is a highly "Googleable" question.
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/change-which-programs-windows-uses-by-default

In there you can set your default browser.

control panel - network & internet - internet properties - programs Tab , first option will say somethin about making IE your default browser. When you installed chrome it also asked you if you wanted to make it your defaut browser.....

Open Internet Explorer

Navigate to Internet options either by clicking Tools, or the quick icon looking like a cog top right corner under the X 'close' icon.

Click the programs tab and under default web browser, click 'Make default'.

This is in reference using ie9 or 10. If using an earlier version, the same procedure will be similar.
