i`m thinking of ordering a OEM athlonXP, simply because i have a good heatsink, and the prices are cheaper than the boxed version.

what i`m worried about is the packaging. shipping can be pretty rough, and might cause physical damage on the CPU. how are these OEM version CPUs packed up?

"No. Celeron is bad."

I bought an OEM AXP, and it arrived in a bubble-wrap padded bag, and inside that was in a little foam-padded box, like the sort of box you get rings in.

Arrived in perfect condition. I wouldn't worry anyway, if it gets damaged in transit they should replace it with no questions.

Yeah, they come in a vacuum sealed plastic form fitting case. Very rugged, took me a pair of scissors and a pocket knife to open it up. Also, you get plenty of styrafoam peanuts...Mmmm...peanuts...
