I don't know how reliable the inquirer is but they claim that AMD is launching two new processors on the 21st. They will only have the 266 mhz fsb and will be clocked at 2 Ghz and 2.133 Ghz. This is pretty sweet along with the p4 2.8 ghz on the 26th. Prices will really go down. I just don't know what to buy now. This article could be a bunch of crap so here is the link:

Probably includes a PAL8045 and a Delta 75CFM fan... or maybe a watercooler...

Paper launch.

Of course they will have some chips available, but I'm sure they won't be available here where I live for at least an additional month. At least that was the case with the XP2200+.

But it sounds interesting that they should run cooler. Definately something to keep an eye on and see if the upcomming reviews can back this claim up.

I would not be surprised if it could reach XP2600+ rating(2067 MHz) bearing in mind that I had my Tualatin Celeron (which basically is a shrinked version of the god old PIII core) running at 1820MHz. Remember the Athlon was initially able to reach higher clockspeeds than the PIII.

"That processor couldn't get that high" and you're right.

These are new chips that have come out of AMD refining their .13 process! I'm skeptical of a release this month, maybe the 2400+. Although it is entirely possible, we'll just have to see.

from the sources ive been reading crashie, its not technically the same as the tbred... more like a significant core revision... tbred mkII is you wish. apparently amd happened tp notice that the initial tbred wasnt scaling well so they went back and refined it.

POSSIBLY promising for overclocking as well, and im glad that they have ditched the 0.5 multiplier (66mhz) speed increments finally.

tweaked core has likely had more of an impact than tweaked process. Sure, further improved/refined process has probably played some role in the 2400 and 2600 releases IF they are true, BUT minor core adjustments likely play as much if not more of a role.

on best onair colling the 2200+ was htting 2.0 ghz if your are lucky. They must rework they 0.13 who suck. Also they voltage must drop to 1.5 like slower model and NW (DO stepping) core

The day i meet a goth queen that tell me Intel suck.I turn in a lemming to fill is need in hardware.

Yeah, I've also heard AMD's doing some core enhancements to get them to run up there. Are the T-brebs being made at Dresden or UMC?
