My rig:
DELL
Motherboard: Intel SE440BX-3
Processor: Intel Celeron 1.4GHZ (Using a Powerleap adapter)
Memory: 384Mb SDRAM PC-100
DVDROM: Toshiba DVD-ROM SD-M1212
HARD DRIVE 1: IBM DPTA-372730 25.5GB
HARD DRIVE 2: Western Digital Caviar AC31600H 1.5Gb
Video card: ATI RADEON 8500 LE with 128MB OF MEMORY
Sound card: Creative CT4780 SBLive! Value
Network Card: 3Com Etherlink XL PCI TPC NIC (3C900B-TPC)
Monitor: Dell M780

my 3D MARKS: 7084.

input guys. is this low? fair? high? I think its a little low. my videocard settings are all default, except that its running at 274/274 instead of 250/250. Also the monitor refresh rate is 75hz. im using win 2k pro.
this is the compare url http://service.madonion.com/compare?2k1=4204587, and my email is water_paladin@yahoo.com (i dont check that email) just in case u dont find it.
i just need to know what i can tweak so i can get a higher performance.

thanks

well for one, you are running a really fast processor with pretty old ram and mobo. The reason other p4's get a higher rating is that they use rdram and you use pc100 sdram, so that's why it's low.

You make me wanna cry. I have a P4 1.4GHz and used to have a R8500LE 128MB Retail BBA in there. I got ~6600 stock and ~7300 o/ced to 310/310. Have you o/ced the card yet? Try it. You'll probably beat me. Oh, yeah, I have PC800 RDRAM too...

Looks really good to me. More than I would have expected from a Celeron + Powerleap adapter.

That's about what I score (~7200) with a Tbird at 1500 Mhz (150 * 10), PC150 SDRAM, and Radeon 8500OEM at stock (250/275).

Overclocking my video card to 300/325 (needs an extra cooling fan) got me to 8297

That's a very good score for your system, my T-bird(10x146), R8500(288/322), KT333 mobo, and PC2100RAM at the fastest settings gets ~9100. I just upgraded my proc to an AXP1600+ clocked to 2200+ (10.5x171.48). I can't run my old PC2100 at fast timings at that high of an FSB.. so w/ that proc at 2200+ I only get around ~9800 3Dmarks(2001SE). That processor runs excellent overclocked (1.8V, 46CIdle/50CLoad), but I think faster ram would've been a better investment than the processor. It was only 60 bucks though, so I guess I can't complain. I found that my RAM running @ 266MHz w/ the ultra timings was faster than @ 342MHz w/ more lax timings. I doubt you could get too much more out of your system. I'd be happy with that score. I keep wasting money on my rig.

Yep, that's a good score, mostly due to your video card. You would only get about 10% higher with an Athlon 1400. And your processor will probably overclock at least 10%.

actually, because i recieved my graphics card first, i tried my radeon with my old p3 600 katmai, i scored 4000. So i think the cellie made a fairly big contribution. and whats that about "And your processor will probably overclock at least 10%" im curious...hehe. remmeber my mobo is old, its 100 FSB. and my memory sticks are all PC100. so if it involves much danger, i wont risk my newly bought components. but if u say it shouldnt be a problem, i could try it. The powerleap adapter allows me to set 66, 100 and 133 FSB. and allows me to set voltages from 1.05v TO 1.825v....

how much should i set the FSB for? do i need to change the voltage? Remember, i can only set 100, 103, 124 and 133 in SOFTFSB or CPUFSB or any program like that.

Crap, it jumps straight from 103 to 124? 103 should work at stock voltage, 124 will never work.

Try 103 first. Then 124, if that doesn't work just raise the voltages a bit...

Overclock the P4 i sure it can hit 120 FSB with a P4 1.7 8500 OEM (bios flash) i can hit 8200 stock 9000 overclock.

The day i meet a goth queen that tell me Intel suck.I turn in a lemming to fill is need in hardware.

103 im pretty sure it will work,,, 124 i will have to raise the voltage...also raise the cooling...and im not sure if i should do that...whaddaya think guys? i bought it new so i dont wanna mess up now.

Well, try 103 first. Then, try 124. If it locks up, then reboot. Raise the vCore a bit, but keep track of your temps (BTW, I don't think the cellies have core protection do they??) if they're not bad, then you should be good to go.

i cant check my cpu temp in any way man....thats a big problem. my mobo or the adapter, none of them has any type of sensors. Sandra doesnt display anything about temperature and Motherboard Monitor 5 doesnt display anything either...just zeros.

I'd say it's a ggod score.

Hmmm... I would have thought you should be able to set a 112FSB as well.

I think the Tualatin Cellerys have the same thermal protection as the Tualatin PIIIs do.

When did you get it? Is it a tA1 or tB1 stepping? The new tB1 chips are supposed to overclock even better then their older tA1 siblings.
