Can regular Intel chips run in a dual board or do you have to buy Xeon?
I know AMD sells Regular and Dual capable, i'm very familiar with AMD, but not with Intel. So just wondering if Xeon was their only dual capable chips. If so, I may just stick with AMD, due to price.

Right, the only difference between the P4 and P4 Xeon core is that they disabled dual processor capabilities in the standard P4 so they could charge more for the XEON. I think they changed the pin grid slightly so they wouldn't be interchangable on single boards either.

Regular P4's are uniprocessor ONLY. Xeon's are the only multi processor capable CPU's that are based on the P4's architecture.
Before, with the P2's and P3's, you could have a maximum of 2 processor's in the system (if you wanted more, you had to go with the Xeon). But that changed with the P4. Intel is now doing the same thing AMD has been doing with the Athlons.
