I come to this forum maybe once a week, for about 15 mins. all I see is posts from a lamer named grizely1 with bic lighter flaming skills.

You dont know me, and clueless to what I know or do. let alone what platforms I work with.

Just to clear things up, I am a Advanced Systems Integrator (have mommy define that for you).
I work with just about every network operating system. Im sure some you never even heard of. I am certified by too many manufactures, more than you could afford to buy frames for.

I am a field technician for Silicon Graphics Inc., I see just about everything in the course of a day.

I don't care weather you believe me or not. You will probably post something to the negative because your a retard like that.

I am not limited to the x86 platform, I work with all platforms with complete understanding of the hardware design.

Now that we cleared that up...

I see you grizely1 following every thread posted here commenting too many times on most. all spewing your AMD bs. you own one good for you. I am yet to see an educated post from you. Other than camping this forum you have no life it seems. I like how you copied and pasted my previous post. like a 7th grader would. just goes to show how much it hurts you. =)

As for the rest of you AMD lovers, there is SSE2 applications and hardware driver updates for SSE2 hitting the shelves every day. SSE2 is here now. there is no "in the future" or "a long wait". its here now! WTF you think AMD is moving that direction? to join Intel in a marketing blunder?? I don't think so.

Sorry if I don't respond quickly. Im very busy during the day. but thanks for taking the time to get to know me a lil better. you may not value my opinion and I really don't care. Im glad we got that straight =)

its nice you took time to explain things.
However, as soon as you say "you AMD lovers", I take offense. You can't generalize like that. I happen to own an AMD. My machine currently being built is an AMD and I trully believe for many users AMD is now an ideal choice (although of course not for everybody).
But, I have owned Intels in the past, when they were superior, and my dad currently has an Intel notebook (there was even a Cyrix 586 snuck somewhere a long time ago:).
I'll buy an Intel again when (if?) it is superior to AMD and other competitors (I'll even buy a cyrix if its better, but that's doubtful:)
I don't like being categorized an "AMD puppy" as soon as I make one argument for their superiority, just as much as I don't call anybody a "Intel lunatic" or whatever when they put down their arguments.
Point is, to each his own. I've seen you personally spam and use inappropriate and childish language a lot more often than Grizley. I even for the longest while doubted highly that you are a nervous, opiniated 14 year old (no offense intended to the usually intelligent 14 year olds here!:) trying to gain credibility lacking in his posts by adding imaginary employees and experience.
Maybe you should consider spell and grammar checking your posts, and using phrases like "your a retard" less (btw, should be you're), and people will take you more seriously... than again, maybe not...:(
This is first of your posts that I have taken seriously (although I admittedly haven't seen them all)
Personally, I don't take seriously anybody with cut and dry, circumstances-independent opinons. Anybody who thinks that Intel is ALWAYS better or that AMD is ALWAYS better isn't somebody whose advice I'll follow -- they are obviously partial to the point of self-dellusion and their advice is as meaningless as it is predictable.

As far as SSE2, it admittedly has a lot of potential (although P4 is a poor implementation of it, and cuts too many corners as Intel's chief engineer has admitted last week)
However, I'm not buying new applications while my current ones are working. The cycle to renew/replace 95% of my applications is measured at the very least in years... and in the meantime new processor should work with my existing applications well. That works just as well with large companies and corporations (and I work at a rather large company myself currently).
We're not gonna reinstall Peoplesoft or Oracle here now, or at any time in the near future; but we will be needing 500 or 1000 more workstations in 6 months. SSE2 doesn't come into equation...

Anyhoo, if you want less flames, flame less yourself. If you want more respect, offer more intelligent, helpful and supported advice, and be respectful of others. No amount of self-revelatory posts or important backgrounds will do it for you...:(

Good luck:)

um, ok, why should I count your posts?

Reply to Kodiak

I don't know about Grizely1's conduct, but I can tell you that AMD processors are excellent. So are P3's (and P4's).
However, I tend to favor the AMD processors because they are cheaper and offer the same performance as the P3's.
Check www.pricewatch.com to see what I mean. Intel once owned the processor market, but AMD has lead in pure speed for over a year now, until the P4 came along.
Just my thoughts on this. I amnot an "AMD lover" or an "Intel lover" and I don't see why it makes a difference anyway. Go with whatever processor you prefer. Personally, I like AMD.

Oh, come on now. Let's use some common sense. Everyone reading this, please go and search for replies to any thread by FUGGER. You can do that in the "Search Boards" option. Read his replies. Now do the same for me. Read my replies.

Now, as for you, Mr. I-Want-To-Feel-All-Big-And-Tough FUGGER:

Quote :

I am a Advanced Systems Integrator

Sure you are. Lots of Advanced Systesm Integrators have childish names and post personal flames on messageboards across the world. I understand.

As for personal flames... AHEM..... Want to see a flame? Read your post.

Following every thread posted here? I barely answer in 1/50th of them. As for the "spawing your AMD bs", I have barely related my pledge to AMD in the posts I make. Only the Anti-AMD ones.

Quote :

Actually, when I look down the list of threads I dont see any with the name "Grizely1" beside it... Don't know where you're looking (Might help to get your head out of your ass?)

We didn't get anything straight. I still think of you as a low life scum sucker, and have lost even more respect for you because of your starting personal flames.

I belong to many respected internet and social communities, and there has been no problems (there has been no "FUGGERs" either.) And I don't get angry (if I do at all) becuase of you allways bitching about AMD this, Intel that. It's because of your personal flames. There is many people I argue with about graphics card issues, by I respect them because they don't flame people because of their opinions. I believe this is supposed to be a free country.

Thank you to all the people who replied in my defense, and AMD's.

God bless,

I am not a addict. Im glad you like my handle.

"We didn't get anything straight. I still think of you as a low life scum sucker, and have lost even more respect for you because of your starting personal flames"

I know you understand 100% where I am coming from after your complete breakdown of each line adding your lame response.

Next time grizely1 do not try to discredit, belittle, or talk down to people that you do not know. this thread probably never would have been.

Reserving 266Mhz FSB... not your post? oh.. ok... thats a different Grizely1... 17 total posts and 8 are yours. you responded to me withen 11 minutes.

On each forum there are always some users that cannot stick to reasonable behavior, thus spoiling the fun and commitment of the majority of well-behaved people that contribute to the community. This used to be a problem with our old forum, as numerous emails from concerned forum users showed. This time we will monitor the forum much more closely. People who cannot stick to the netiquette will be removed rigorously. This is not meant to be a threat, but a soothing comment for all the people who don't appreciate bad language, off-topic comments, flames and sexually harassing postings

Reply to lakedude

That was off the list until someone replied to it, FUGGER. It's my post and I'm very anxious in wondering if I can get the 266MHz Thunderbird before Christmas (It is in 6 days, you know.)

as for this:

Quote :

this thread probably never would have been.

Please do not forget YOUR the one who has started this thread. Not me. I would have liked to forget your personal flames (yes I flamed a few times too, I admit it, but not as much as you), but it has gone too far.
You started this thread out of your own will, nobody forced you. You started this flame thread.

As for your comment "you responded to me within 11 minutes", I have no clue what you are talking about. It just so happens I got on the board 11 minutes after you did. Are coincidences wrong?

Actually it didn't take an hour or two to compose... I have a 160 word per minute typing average.

FUGGER, if you're willing to put this behind you, so am I. But we both have to stop this [-peep-].

well enough of all this personal flaming. i thought we are here to talk about latest techs in computer hadrware.

with both grizley and fugger ready to get all this behind their Bs lets take the whole episode as a negative example of behaviour on such a forum. and see to it our conduct is not like this.

it disturbs all the members and might as well intimidate newcomers. lets use this forum as amicably as we can rather than getting our personal grudges here. i suggest such wannabes use the email of the concerned person and keep a track of all messages. interested members can request them for the logs and enjoy themselves.

btw many of us coming here work for large companies or work on latest state-of-art hardware, and thus have the moral right to opine about the things out there. and better not post our autobigraphys here, nobody really cares about that.

as far as favorism to Intel or AMD goes, its a matter of personal opinion and one should do his best to convince others. benchmarks on tomshardware, anandtech or cpureview and the like say a lot about them, and these guys DO have the moral right to talk about it. at least respect their opinions. nobody wants to see any message targetted to a individal, (even tom himself wasnt spared - ref: the post "Tom I have lost respect for you....." - we all know who posted that), but a healthy discussion on the subject.

to belittle one or look down on somebody (and bring that in public) is most comtemptous things, IMO, and should be avoided.

hope all of those who posted here (and that includes the two gladiators) get a lesson from this.

as one post said, eveyday we learn a new thing. lets learn to behave today.

I came to this forum to guage the level of animosity toward ppl who made a choice on purchasing an Intel solution, since reading Dr. Pabst reviews I was sure I'd find some in here. The overall tone and the impression I get from some of these posts were, if you've brought Intel then you wasted your money or even "you're stupid to buy that crap" ok, maybe it is crap but what do you do when you need a dual solution? where are Amd's 2xcpu boards? until then AMD will not get my money. And if they finally come out with the hammer series then I'll see if price/value/performance and compatibility will out weight my preferences then MAYBE I'll give them my money. Contrary to what tom or you folks think, not all Intel users are "brainwashed" or "uninformed".

So, anyways as its stands AMD is still a company you can praise them all you want, but when they get big as Intel I know the allegiance from Amd puppies will taper. :)

Reply to AmdMELTDOWN

I'm dissapointed now. I thought my message was quite humorous, especially in light of all the bickering. Nobody made any comment about my message. The most important part though, is that you enjoyed it, I hope it did.

oh for crying out loud will you people stop generalizing... there are people who buy intel visiting this forum, there are people who buy AMD at this forum, and there are people who aren't religious zealots about either one ...
While some posts are less than respectful (but coming from both sides), I didn't get the feeling that Tom called Intel purchases "brainwashed"...
I don't need your validation of my choice, and I'm not pushing my choice on either group. I don't personally care whether you have Intel or AMD. And will you please stop calling us AMD puppies? Thx...

you are correct in all you say except calling anyone who buys AMD CPU's ADM puppies,
AMD are a company and they do NOT supply a solution for many of the markets and until they do they will not grow to the size of intel.
They need to supply a good multi CPU chipset for some time before ppl will take them on for enterprise level servers, that goes for my self as well, we have just ordered 4 new servers all of which are intel based although 3 of them only have one CPU in they all have dual boards. on the other hand the 2 X 1Ghz graphics workstations we have got along with the same deal are both AMD based.

I hope that AMD do well and continue the challenge to Intels lead in the market but as well I hope to see more competition in the market cos so far I have save a whole [-peep-] load of money over this little war.

In short lets stop bitching at each other and give more informed advice depending on teh requirements for systems..

Hey, what happen to people who have both AMD and Intel?

Double crossing basterd? what to call them?

So sad, flamed when people say AMD this/that and flamed also when people say Intel this/that :(

It seems like nearly everyone have both, all are pros, not only have both, have K6-2 and K7, and have P2 and P3 if not P4.

wow 2.5x double crossing? thank god I only double cross 1x

Grizley1, if I am not mistaken, I think Fugger's reaction to stop flaming is simply no reply at all. Something like action speaks for itself??? so I think you don't have to wait, I think you both come to the same conclusion.

be happy and Merry Christmas everybody :) :)

You know fugger, If you didn't continually pull stuff out of your ass, you might have a little more credibility here.

i.e.
Heat Sink fans having an expected lifetime < 2 years
sub 2 minute linux kernel compiles on a 486
claims of hundreds of personally experienced software incompatibilities with AMD CPUs (of which you've showed us exactly none).

That, and you never actually contribute. You just jump into a thread and spew off some anti-AMD tripe and call some people names. What's the point of that kind of behavior?

If you really have all that knowledge & experience, I'm sure you could do better then that.
