Overclocking a p4 2.4b

Last response: in CPUs

Hello
I Have this system:
P4 2.4b 533 fsb
Asus p4t533-c
512mb pc1066 OCZ
Geforce 4 ti4600

I plan overclocking it to 2.7 Ghz if I can. 2 Questions:
First of all, can I achieve this speeds with the retail intel fan/heatsink?
Secondly, If I need a new f/s, which one is the best cooler, and what motherboard/CPU temperatures are the limit to achieve?
Thanks

Well, you should be able to max the board without any problems with stock HSF.

Keep your CPU under 50c, the lower the better.

Swifttech MCX4000 or MCX478
Volcano 7+ or newer
Alpha Pal for 478 also is also a top contender.

You are limited to what your mind can perceive.

2.7GHz is easy with that CPU and stock HSF. You should set a higher goal...

And the Alpha PAL for 478 is the PAL8942.

You'll definitely do a bit better, but going from stock to V7+ won't do too much. Really you'll have to go to say a Swiftech MCX4000 and a Delta fan to get much higher.

Hmmm... forgot about that. What's it's max FSB? 156MHz or something like that IIRC? Yeah, then the stock HSF will most likely be good enough.
