Your temp seems about right. Though, you might run it cooler if you use a powerful HSF.

Put the side back on. It's not a true overclock if you've gotta do that. Just put in an extra fan or something.

Close your case and run Prime95, it will stress your CPU and it will tell you if something that maybe you don't know is not working properly. I have learnt this from a good poster. (search for Prime95 in this forum for more information)

If something is not ok, or if frezees (shut down the PC!), try to improve air flow and a better HSF. A copper one, with big fan, I've heard that Alpha 8045 is a good choice. Ask for more information or search for HSF to get more info.

yep. run prime95 for a few hours.
if your computer doesn't
A. crash
B. freeze
or
C. prime95 stops with an error

then your system is running fine.
If it does either A or B then more/better cooling my be required.
If it does C, that usually means that something is not quite right, and you usually have to back off on the overclock.

you need a better HSF for sure.
If the system temp is 25ºC and CPU 54ºC that's (54-25) 29ºC difference. It should be 10 or 15º at max.
I suggest you Thermaltake Volcano 6CU+ or Volcano 7. They are about US$ 10-16 and very cost effective.
