Hello,

My computer was working fine until about a week ago. I don't know what happened, but the next time I tried to get on it, it told me Windows could not start. It then went to a black screen and after a timed wait, launched some kind of an automatic repair where windows would fix it if it could. It couldn't. I've restored it and it works, but I have to restore it everytime I get on and because programs installed after the restore point aren't their, I have to download and run those programs again. I'm wondering if a virus or something like it could have caused this, and how can I fix it so I can get on my laptop normally?

Thank you.

One sure way is to format the hdd and reload Windows. At what point were you able to get Windows to load? In your post you said " it launched some kind of an automatic repair where windows would fix it if it could. It couldn't. I've restored it and it works ". What did you do to restore Windows ? Are you talking about system restore?
