Notebook HDD replacement (upgrade...?)

Forum Laptops & Notebooks : General Discussion Notebook HDD replacement (upgrade...?)

I need to replace the hard drive on my running Windows xp.

It currently has two 80 gb drives with 5400 rpm. The second drive was used strictly for data storage (photographs and documents). I have a new large desktop as my main machine.

This machine will be used strictly on a casual basis when I'm traveling. I've purchased a 1 tb external drive for data, so I will be using this for internet access and Photoshop CS2 work.

Will one hd be sufficient for my purpose? Is it worth putting in a drive with 7200 rpm? Will the machine accept this?
