Hi all,

I'm after a dual cpu server, however I've got quotes from several suppliers, including Compaq, IBM and Evesham. Some of them specify Intel and some AMD.

My question is are AMD chips up to the job in a server, don't have a problem in desktops, but a server I'm not too sure about.

Also I think I read somewhere that AMD MP chips do not have error checking can anyone confirm or dispute this?!?

Any help\advice would be appreciated.

I've been running dual Athlons since the 760MP chipset first came out. It is without question up to the job. The performance is definitely there and, the stability that some people will tell you is exclusive to Intel is simply FUD.

Good luck!

I like the Pentium IV, I really do! And it's so versatile. You simply won't find a more stylish or decorative key chain ornament or paperweight.
