Hey guys!

I made a program kinda like Sandra soft, but im a intermedite coder so I want to make my own.

I have a favor to ask.

You can download this
<A HREF="http://www.wideopenwest.com/~gyoungblood/cpu/files/vb/Project1.zip" target="_new"> File. </A>

What that is, is a zip (This is NOT a virus, why would I want to forfit my status here, just over this, but if u want make sure to scan the zip before you extract it, for piece of mind)

Inside is Project1.exe, that is just a common name vb6 gives new "project" you are working on.

Run that and hit the 2 buttons, "ALU" and "FPU".

You'll get 2 #'s

Just ignore the "Compare" part of the window, it not even done, because when I was doing it I realised that the program I was getting the info off of did it a different way.

So if you could, send me:

CPU Speed
CPU Type
ALU Speed
FPU Speed
Overclocked CPU Speed (If you have it OC'ed)
OC'ed ALU
OC'ed FPU
And amount of memory.

Just post it back here on the thread.

(MOD's please dont delete this, if anything move it if you have to, because I would really apprecaite this/need this info)

Thanks guys, ALOT

Only takes a split second to bench?

3.21Ghz

ALU 4855
FPU 1462
256MB ram

Ok, I went to the link in that so called bench. it is so old how can we be "beta" testers?

My system:

Duron 1.0 GHz
nForce 420-D motherboard
128 MB Ram (8 MB shared for video)

Your beta is not good, It gives uncertain marks (especially FPU marks). I tested my cpu with it 3 times consecutively. Scores were--

ALU : 2629 (1st test), 2603 (2nd test), 2593 (3rd test) MIPS
FPU : 683 (1sd test), 735 (2nd test), 731 (3rd test) MPLOPS

I also tested my cpu 3 times with Sandra 2002 SP1 consecutively. Results--

<b> Sandra CPU Arithmetic benchmark:

ALU: 2745 (1sd test), 2752 MIPS (2nd test), 2746 (3rd test) MIPS
FPU: 1375 MFLOPS (All times) </b>

Your program is somewhat inaccurate giving ALU mark, FPU mark is almost half in your program.

Last words : I am surprised to see that how quickly your program tests ALU and FPU. Sandra takes lot more time to test ALU and FPU. Is it a reason for inaccuate marks?

1800XP 256Mb DDR2100 ram MSI KT-3 Ultra
Alu 2974 - 3205
Fpu 1095 - 1160
can u explain what does the both one mean. (alu/fpu)
but tried and seen in first 5 test the values are very different i you apply more tests you get almost same ratings after 10th test

There is something wrong here, either LED faked his results, or Fugger got 400 points less in FPU than LED's 1.8A, while Fugger has a 3.21GHZ P4!

AXP 1600+ 1.4GHZ
512MB DDR PC2100
ALU=3540
FPU: 1032

My FPU score seems weak.
It's a good fast way to bench program, but I hope you try to make it as much recent in coding as possible so it represents less syntheticness and more real-life performance.

AND!

"It's a good fast way to bench program, but I hope you try to make it as much recent in coding as possible so it represents less syntheticness and more real-life performance."

It really isn't good, Eden. Or maybe we should adopt an industry wide PR numbering scheme from this benchmark? It certainly doesnt take long......well for Intel a little longer. They have to check the P4 box when they want to benchmark. And then they can get PR#s for their processors.

The test does not work unless you click the P4 field...

I also have a RDR machine, that scores much lower than the IT7.

I also think LED has posted bad numbers.

How can you get thrice my FPU with 3 speed grades above?!

Instead of accusing each other, I would suggest you think that this is early code and may have many quirks. Not to mention we have absolutely no idea what the program attempts to do. I would not freak out if the results were not realistic, even by comparison to eachother.

I have no idea. I ran it twice and got about the same result. I ran it again today and got around 2800 or so. My guess is that it's a glitch in the program.

Well this all doesnt make any sense to me personally.......the numbers r so wacked up.........

Heres the specs on my Multi-Media system...

AMD Duron 750Mhz @ 950MHz
ASUS A7V133 KT133A
128MB PC-133 CL2 SDRAM

ALU=2376
FPU=2004

Thing is.....I ran it 10 times on each ALU and FPU.....those were the highest numbers i got.....The ALU fluctuated between 2258 all the way to 2376 each tiem i clicked....and the FPU flucuated from 1894 to 1945 to 2004 everytime......very interesting results.....

I'd love to test this program out on my Athlon XP 1600+ system btu i cant right now as my ram is fried...aswell as motherboard......and a corrupted hard drive......all happened today becasue of a stupid POS defective Infineon DDR ram dimm.....

ALSO....i dont have a P4 but just for kick i clicked ok it and it more than doubled my FPU score......it went past 4400......where did it make this # out of ???

Also, what is the Command3 Button do ?

Well, however it works, consistency doesn't seem to be its strong point. New results, in order:

ALU: 4162, 3638, 3981, 3476, 3720, 3689, 3527, 3360
FPU: 3432, 2536, 2928, 2708, 2752, 2752, 2784, 2948

I guess he's got some work to do on it before it's ready.

SOME ??

Understandable...he needs Beta testers...but WOW.....the scale here for the ALU and FPU alone can increase or decrease by 1000+ numbers......depending of course.....

Oh well...lets see what the original poster has to say....
