Hi Folks

I'm just about to build a new PC. I have noticed that the new Athlon XP is out in the states, however is still not for sale in the UK :( Does anyone have any ideas on timescales for the UK release of the latest XP Processors?

Cheers

Geoff

I'm still not even convinced that the AXP 2600+ is available. Several Pricewatch listings are still pre-orders, and I can't find a single retail AXP 2400+ or 2600+ for sale yet. (At least not without a motherboard+CPU combination purchase.)

I do hope that they come out soon though.

Update! This is from AMD's own website.

Now shipping AMD Athlon XP 2600+ and 2400+ processors to major computer manufacturers with worldwide availability expected in September.
Since my watch tells me that today is October, then appearantly 'worldwide availability expected in September' means that AMD is running behind schedule on their 2400+ and 2600+ releases. Hopefully they're not too far behind, but I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you.
