How to clean my laptop?

I have a HP G61-320US, 2 years and 7 days old. It averages around 85C idle. I don't have compressed air right now. But I plan to buy some Monday. Do I just stick the straw in each hole on the side and the back with short 1 second bursts in each hole. Then turn it over and short bursts between the keys. This is also done while the laptop is off and the batter is out right? By the way my battery has been dead for about 6 months.

That way you may just worsen the things, because you may blow the dust from the external grilles right where it shouldn't be - like on a ventilator/radiator, completely preventing it from functioning properly. IMHO you should open the case and blow the dust off your CPU cooler.

I think it would be better to take it to Service Center.
