which p4 is best overclocker and without needing great and many coolers :) ..'cause my ears need no more noise! :)
(for example, is it able to o/c p4 1.8 with the normal cooler on it? [i dont expect 2.8])

Without a doubt, the Pentium4 1.8A is the best Pentium4 overclocker. Stock cooling is quite sufficient. 2.4GHz garaunteed.

It's arguable that the 1.6a was the best of its time. But now we're moving on the the C1 steppings and it seems that the 2.53 is trying to gain a new hold with 3.2 GHz on air cooling.

The 1.6A has been discontinued, which I am sure you are aware of, and I agree it was very good. The 1.8A is the best choice at this point in time. The next 1.6A will be the 2.2A with C1 steppings (3GHz+ on stock cooling and cheap), but the C1 northwoods will not be available until Intel runs out of current northwoods.

You've heard correctly!

My 1.8 is running at just under 2.6 and ice cold (40C idle, 48C load) with stock CPU cooler and a case fan.

From the heat i've been seeing you'd EASILY get straight to 2.4 with stock cooling and nothing extra.
