The VIA roadmap here that seems to indicate any Athlon >2600+ will be bartons with a 266 MHZ FSB ? WTF ? What about the 333 FSB thoroughbreds ?

Hmmm, Maximum PC states differently. Supposedly quoting from AMD, the new roadmap (I should say "plan" the word "roadmap" wasn't quoted) has XP 2700+ and 2800+ with the revised Thoroughbred B core being released to run at 333 Mhz. Performance gains will allow the Thoroughbred line to run a little longer pushing back the Barton release. Eventually all XPs will be Thoroughbred B which I suppose delays the adoption of Barton to be the new XP. I assume this will still be in the cards but later. Incidentally, the new Thoroughbred B core is 4 mm^2 larger than the original core. The XP 2800+ that Maximum PC tested is supposedly the genuine article.

Seems like they decided to skip looking for an updated roadmap when they wrote this arcticle. They even classified the XP 2700 and XP 2800 as 266Mhz FSB processors.
Last I heard, the Hammer's were using a .09 micron process, not .13. Someone fill me in on when that changed(or whether I'm going pschyco).

According to their posted roadmap, Hammer will be released at .13um and won't transition to .09 until 2h03.

Hmmm.. that's 2H03 with the launch date of 2H02 at .13u. Now that it's gonna be Q1 2003 before we even see them, it'll probably be 1H 2004 before we see 0.09u Hammers.

...And all the King's horses and all the King's men couldn't put my computer back together again...

I don't think anyone will be suprised if the .09 date is pushed out to 2004. It seems to be a repeating pattern lately with AMD.

I suddenly feel that Barton was pushed to 2003 to get the SSE 2 license on it.

Not only that, but this roadmap classified the XP 2700+ & 2800+ as Bartons while they should both be Thoroughbred B.
