voltage question

I just put together a computer with an Athlon 2000+ and epox 8K5A2 motherboard. Have done no overclocking or messing with settings yet.

I downloaded a CPU temperature program to make sure everything was ok. This program displayed the core voltage in red (I guess meaning that something is wrong), and the core voltage is 1.76v. Is something wrong here?

No. If your system is stable, no problem. 1.75 is the correct default voltage, so your monitor program is pretty accurate.

I wouldn't really worry about unless it's fluttery or trending in a direction.
