Unusual Laptop Power Problem? help please

my problem is kinda unusual! Whenever i unplug my AC adapter from the laptop, then plug it back in.. i get no AC power! its still running on battery. While plugged in i have to then unplug and replug the adapter into the wall outlet, then everything works fine again. Is there some sort of power management option im missing? its not a major issue, just really a big annoyance whenever i use the laptop off battery i then have to move my desk to plug the AC adapter in and out wall to get laptop recognizing it again.

check laptop ac power cable and transformer on another one if you could
