Receiver Shutting Off

I have an Aiwa receiver that is probably 3 years old. I was playing Splinter Cell and when a grenade went off, my receiver shut off. I tried it with movies and whenever it suddenly gets really loud, it shuts off. I have it plugged into a power strip, with a tv, dvd player and laptop. I was thinking maybe too much power was being drawn from the outlet or something, but the DVD player and TV stay on. Any help would be great, thanks!

Sounds like it is getting overloaded or something. Dont turn up the volume so loud
