My computer is saying that the microsoft teredo tunneling adapter has a driver

Hi my name is Brenda, when I was troubleshooting my computer told me that my Microsoft Teredo Tunneling Adapter's driver was not fixed. I have Microsoft Security and not Zone Alarm. Can you please tell me how to fix this problem? My email is cjmn_dfan_jngn@yahoo.com. Thanks so much.

  1. 1. Please delete your email address from the OP.

    2. Make sure that your firewall has IPv6 networking allowed.
  2. Nobody is really using that protocol yet so you can simply disable it in your device manager till needed
Teredo is enabled by default on Windows Vista/7 but is inactive until required.

You can disable it using netsh:
    Open a cmd prompt
    Type the following commands:
    netsh
    interface
    teredo
    set state disabled

To set it back to default again use:
    set state default

The 'Teredo' tunnelling thing is the newest ip networking/internet-networking thing ( IPv6 ). You don't need it, as most of the internet is still IPv4.
  3. Hello Brenda,

Just disable it in System Control Panel.
