Cool concept. Seems unstable though. Toss in a few enzymes or a virus and it's all over. Vaccinate your computer?

maybe ten years after that, abusing your computer really can get better results! thats kind of twisted though hehehehe

A good friend of mine works with that. Issue is currently for every step things must be done by hand which takes a lot of time. His intentions really are to implant into the body to be able to trigger with this cures for diseases.

That's by far the most important thing I am hoping this project succeeds in, incorporating self-healing bodies.

And you know what is weird?
Science fiction, with all its irregularities, irrealistic moments, is actually becoming the future these writers envisioned!
We really are approaching a Self-healing or autoregeneration world, something I never expected or imagined it would be attainable!
Next up is body metamorphosis!

It's probably only a matter of time before the righteous Bush administration bans research into such computers as these though =p

Wouldn't it be really wierd if we all started taking our test tubes to lans and wowing over who has the biggest tube or the coolest cooler goo in them .... hehe

It is incredible. I have often thought of this when I work w/ quantum computers and when talking w/ my friend who works with the DNA comps. This certainly will have profound effects if researched to its fullest and realized. Imagine: quantum computers as ur desktop comp (though they prolly will be about the size of a cup) and implementations with DNA comps on humans who have diseases (and possibly implementation on the brain to aid in certain tasks!). The future looks bright from this standpoint.

The only thing thing I am hoping is that this DNA comp into human genome experiment is involving simply "augmenting" the cell structure and not installing something which could in fact be corrupted or even turn against you, à la Robot style.
It reminds me a bit of Deus Ex, and how Nano-augmented agents really do have better tissue and self-healing, but with some other things like kill-switches and possibly thought reading.
I just want something which involves self-healing, against diseases or wounds, which could aid for old people, sick people, and even mentally challenged people. All this is, is to simply upgrade the human cells intelligence, to really let them flex their muscles inside.
