I'm looking for a free measurement converter and a free database.

For the converter I'd like one that I could configure with my own factors
because the ones I have seen don't include wire gauges.

For the database, flat tables will do. I will continue to use handy
shopper but sometimes I just need a DB.

It's too bad that freewarepalm.com doesn't allow you to sort by rating.

TIA

There are only two free databases, how do you want to sort them?
DB and List.

Unit2Unit doesn't seem to be upgradable with own conversions.

I still use 'Units 1.11' (1998, GPL):
http://francois.pessaux.neuf.fr/files/units1_11.tgz
No funny pictures. 13+6 KB - those were the times ;-)
Fully changable/extendable.
Comes with an english documentation.

Yes, please, do not hesitate to make fun of my absent abilities :-)
Where is this feature hiding?

Let's say I want to add a conversion from Droodles to Brabbles,
the formula being 1 Droodle = 2.4 Brabbles + 127.001

How is Unit2Unit helpful with the like?
What am I missing?
