THG's have only bench-marked the Athlon 2600+ at 266MHz FSB (133), even when comparing it to the 333MHz FSB 2700 and 2800. But recently I've been seeing several sellers offering the 2600+ with either a 266 FSB OR a 333 FSB. My question is: Are the sellers offering the 2600+ with 333 FSB lying to our faces or are they legit? If there is a 2600+ with 333 FSB, I'd like to see THG bench-mark it against the 2600+ with 266 FSB. They both run at the same 2.13GHz Clock.

I believe that AMD didn't have the 2600+ with the 333MHz FSB when the benchmarks were done. It has been in their plans though, I think I heard they will be putting the faster bus even on the 2400+.

Yes, there is a "2600+" with a 333 FSB. Here's the catch though, it runs at 2.08 GHz vs 2.13 of the "2600+" with 266 FSB. So you'll probably roughly get the same performance with either. This may just be AMD's way of making sure a "2600+" is a "2600+" and one "2600+" doesn't outperform another.

Yeah, what imgod2u said, although I think that the neglibigle clock decrease won't offset the performance gains you'll get with the higher FSB. So if you have the choice, I'd go for the XP2600+

i had that same question, cause i was lookin on pricegrabber and saw the 266/333 thing. i was originally gonna get a 2700 cause i thought that was the first in line to get 333mhz fsb, but if the 2600 has it to (you can tell by looking at the pic, it looks the same as te 2700/2800) then there wouldnt be much of a performance difference and i would go for it. but if its either or... how do you specify? or do they mean it supports either, and u set it up however you want? why must they confuse me.

The first LAN party I went to was at a PETA convention. They booted me when I shot a crab in HL!

Yes, if you're looking for a good 333mhz chip to go with your nice new nforce2 mobo, the 2600+ will do nicely =)
