Xp2100 on a7v8x
core voltage is 1.8
I tried different setting in BIOS to lower, supposed to be 1.75 ??
measured w/asus probe , BIOS hardware monitor , and siSandra
all the same
will this cause any problems
how do I get it lower or what determines voltage
currently it's set on auto volt
I'm using new p/supply (antec true430 )

an extra .05V won't neccessarily hurt your processor, however, I'm surprised that the motherboard would post 1.8V instead of 1.75V. The readings done with motherboard monitor are about accurate. Asus has been known to "overvolt" slightly with their motherboards in order to gain a stability edge over their competitors.

1.8 is fine as long as the temps are under control, but if you really want to get it down to spec, just set the BIOS to 1.7 volts and that'll probably bring yours down to the 1.75 spec. I agree with the other poster, Asus boards usually provide a bit more voltage than spec.

yeah they almost always do, my P4S533 gives my northwood around 1.55 volt while idle... (1.5 default)

however its worth noting that while under heavy load it drops to 1.5V or even 1.49 sometimes... although this causes no instability at all
