Windows 7 support for asus mouse

Hello,
I am trying to make my asus mouse work on the dell laptop with windows 7. The key board works fine, but not the mouse. When itry to update the drivers, i get an error message: HID compliant mouse, needs interactive windows station to continue. can u help me to fix this problem.
