I have a shuttle as45gtr mb(p4 533fsb SIS 648)
I am to the point of selecting processor and ram.
I would like a 2.0ghz+ P4
My question is this- At stock, and moderate overclocks what is the best combination of ddr ram speed and P4 processor speed to fully utilize the 533fsb with no need for overkill as this is where I would like to save money by not getting the highest-end chips out.

I thought i read someone say that overclocked ddr333 extends beyond the limits of a 533fsb and that overclocked ddr266 more suitably matches a 533fsb. could someone please staighten this out for me please.

Also depending on wich ram module i decide to go with(ddr266/333) what what speed P4 chip will match up best to my ram and 533fsb- The 2.4 and 2.5 P4's seem highly recomended, Will a slower P4 (i.e. a 2.2ghz) still maximize my 533fsb and ram? if not the 2.2ghz what speed P4 would you recomend in my situation and why?

all help greatly appreciated!

I would go for the 2.4b for price/performance. If you don't overclock, you've still got plenty of speed. Mine will run at 154 fsb, but without agp/pci lock (my board has the sis 645dx chipset) my modem actually runs slower with pci out of spec. Also for price/performance, get pc2700. I use the 4:5 ratio on my sis board for 333 fsb speed. The pc3500 runs a little faster, but isn't worth the price in my opinion, and many boards won't run it. Go with one stick of 512 megs of samsung, corsair, micron (crucial) or kingston. I found 256 meg nanya pc2700 on sale at Fry's for $65, and it runs pretty stable at case 2T at 333 speed.
