I currently have a 900 mhz T bird on a asus a7v133a board with 384 mb RAM. Radeon 7200 card and SB live sound card. I was thinking about maybe upgrading the processor to maybe a 2ghz or something, but didn't know if it is as easy as pulling the one cpu out and putting the new one in. What else would be involved as far as hardware, software, etc is concerned? WOuld i need to upgrade the bios, reformat my HD, etc? I was also thinking about upgrading the video card and OS (currently using win98se). Maybe it would be cheaper and easier to just buy a new puter? Any advice or thoughts? Thanks.

probably best to save up and get a whole new computer.otherwise you would need to update the bios for a new processor and probably re-install windows for stability, and even then the new processor would be limited by your motherboard.best start from scratch.

no matter how hard you try, you can't polish a turd. :]
