Where does Toms hardware have the money to buy all their
stuff , cpus ,boards, memory,video,etc...

what from advertisments ? no way...

Most of the new stuff would be supplied by manufacturers for Toms to test and hopefully get a favorable review, For the comparo'S they probably have to buy some stuff, not too many manufacturers would supply product if they thought it would be compared against something better from another manufacturer,Probably a certian amount of subterfuge is involved

I think you have to get pretty well established before they'll send you things for review. Until then, you'll probably have to buy your own. And then, even if you get free stuff, how do you make a living at it? I would guess that that's where the advertisements come in...

It's a mixture of getting press/test samples (which have to be returned after testing) and buying stuff.

You´re all seeing how Tom sticks his neck for AMD!
How he defends AMD!How he recommends AMD processors!
It may be cheaper but the quality leaves much to be desired!

Is this a joke? I really REALLY doubt that Tom gets his money from AMD. His reviews are pretty impartial. Fact is, Intel is hurting for a chipset (good ol' BX is still the way to go! or 815, maybe...). The P4 may become a good processor as it matures, but it currently either a) just lacks a good chipset or b) is a bit too early for its time. The AMD chips don't really seem to have any quality issues, but yeah, they're less expensive. Tom gets his money from ads.

No offence Monika but I have read some of your gazillion posts and you have dumped some junk in the all the computer sections. Fredi should name you "THE POST MAN".

Some posts are even to stupid to be in the 'other' section. Like when someone writes one word and repeats it countless times to get some kind of point through or raise their stupid count.

And besides, it hardly matters. Grizley had already achieved the coveted title of "Nimble Knuckle" and he posts a lot of useful info anyway. If he managed to get his name changed to Forum Patriarch, kudos to him! If titles really don't matter that much, then don't sweat it.

Hey CGalyon READ THE F#$%ING POST.

I don't sweat it. All I am saying is that I told Freddi to hold some contests(previous post) and he said it was a lame idea. Then he does exaclty what he said was lame. I suggested the idea so that people like monika, bubba, Griz etc. would stop posting so often with so little to say. I don't care that griz got his choice of names. I was critcizing Freddi for not allowing others(that want a special name tag) to have the same oportunity to get a special name tag.

And no I don't want a special name tag. [-peep-] it would be nice if I didn't have a tag at all. It doesn't mean anything.
