HELP!, I think i've fried my palamino 1800+. I 've closed the bridges as in THG article "Plastic surgery" but I now get a reported multiplier speed of 11 when using WCPUID on my m/board Asus A7V266-E bios rev: 1004B even tho' i set it to 12 X 140 ???? Any ideas?

No, it's not fried. If it were, your comp couldn't be booted. Try again.

 Good or Bad have no meaning at all, depends on what your point of view is.

So why does my 1800+ show up as a 1700 and why is the multiplier reported as being 11 when it's set to 12.5??? Hugh!

Oh, I don't know...

<b>BECAUSE YOU <font color=red>SCREWED UP</font color=red>!?</b>

Just a thought.

**ROFL**

Seriously though, if it was fried it wouldn't work at all. The fact that it works at the wrong multiplier means you must have made a mistake somewhere.

It's either that, or AMD CPUs are now psychic and 'just know' whenever someone is trying to OC them and take the apropriate means to punish the evil. Heh heh.

mmm Perhaps you're right. I am SCREWED UP but thats besides the point, I found some other info out yesterday, an interactive amd cpu clocking page. It gives some interesting possibilities to try... so here goes, 2100+ or bust my friends. I'm off to my secret lair to experiment so I may not post for a while..
