Hi, i'm looking to get my cousin a new Video Card, CPU, and Ram. Currently he has as follows:

Asus CUV4X mobo
Intel Celeron 900MHz
480?? MB SDRAM (Not sure but in the 400's with the ram.)
Geforce256 DDR Video Card
Windows XP Corp.

I was thinking of getting him the following:

Asus A7A266 mobo $0
AMD Duron 1.3GHz $60
Kingston 256MB DDR PC2100 Memory $65
Geforce3 Ti200 $90

The motherboard I have, and the processor is in a retail box, which I want. Should I get a different processor. I am hoping not to spend more than about 80 on the processor. I am ordering this soon so please if anyone has any idea's please respond. I am not sure what the max speed the motherboard can handle because I have not used it in over a year.

Hmm, well, if you can spend a little more on the processor, upgrade to a 1600+ or 1700+ retail with a HSF, this'll run about $60-70 online. If you really need to save money, the A7A can use the Sdram, although you'll get a small performance hit. As for the video card, i'd reccomend spending an extra $30 or so to get a barebones Geforce4 ti4200, you'll get much better performance, and it's worth the extra cost

Instead of Rdram, why not just merge 4 Sdram channels...
