Hi I build a athon xp for my brother it was my first athlon comp that I have build. I have to say for the time it was running I was impressed. We had the system up for about 2mo and one day it just shut off. I get no video at all every thing els looks like its ok but I get no video I tried his card on my comp witch is the nvida gf 2 ultra and its fine. I sent the mobo back to asus they said its fine. I put some sd ram in it other than waht was in there sd as well and still nothing on screen. So now I think the only thing I have left is the power supply I herd the athlon xp is demanding I think I put a 250 or 300 in there I thought that might be enough but I guess not if that is the case they only thing is I don’t see why it would work for 2 mo and shut off one day. It shut off when we were playing EverQuest heh. anyway if anyone has any suggestions about the power supply or what’s wrong if I fried it or what anyway thanks.

Check the mobo capacitors to see if any of them popped. Otherwise, get a quality power supply. Newegg has some refurbished antec and enermax ps at great prices right now. But you have to act fast. The best deals go fast.

Instead of being perfectly shaped like a barrel, they would be rounded. Newegg has an antec true power 330 with dual fans for only $29 shipped. The dual fans will also lower your cpu temps a degree or two.
