I have an Acer 5610z running vista home premium.

Just last few days, nearly every thing i try to open i get 'application failed to initialize 0x000022 error'

can anyone suggest a solution, ive gleaned it to be a permissions error, and tried these two command lines:
CACLS %systemroot%\System32\*.dll /E /G BUILTIN\Users:R
CACLS %systemroot%\System32\*.ocx /E /G BUILTIN\Users:R

to no avail, it suggests an 'Icacls' command but that wont work (/e unknown command) :fou:

any help please will be gratefully accepted.

well if you are insistent on trying those commands you might want to change the last parameter from R to F and you can get rid of /E for the new command syntax.

Thanks antizig,

i wasnt 'insistent', just read it may help. I managed to solve it with subinacl. it reset everything and all works great.
However thanks for the reply.

p.s. Ive made note of your command suggestions just in case there is a next time. :)
