Are these US prices? That mobo is $131 on newegg.

Otherwise, looks bangin. Are you buying two monitors?

I'd opt for a lite-on DVD drive instead of the cd-rom, should be about the same price. You could also save maybe $30 if you stepped down to the 40x liteon burner.

Might also spend a few extra bucks for a 333fsb AXP 2600+. Retail is $300 on newegg.com, OEM is $282 if you're looking to put a big volcano on there and OC the thing. And you've apparently saved 100 bucks already on the mobo. =)

You don't have a ton of stuff, so a standard case with 350w psu included should be fine unless you start adding a bunch of fans.

Just caught that canada thing. I have no idea what the prices are there then. But I'd still do what I said, minus maybe the 2600 which is probably a lot more expensive than I thought it'd be.

naw they are canadian prices via ncix.com a company out of vancouver.. 1-monitor and the DVD drive is a good idea. ok well OC wasn't out of the question, but i really wanted to avoid it to save cpu life? whats the best chip for $$ out to overclock,if i went that direction keeping in mind i want to use the system for alot of gaming?

If ya plan on overclocking, the 2400+ would be a better choice because of its' thoroughbred-B core. A Flat 19" CRT monitor would be ideal. OCZ PC3500 Enhanced Latency (EL) memory modules are the new memory modules from OCZ, optimized for Dual-Channel configs and very reasonable price. Need a full verion of an operating system if you don't alread have one.

My Recommendation

What province are you located in? If you are not in BC you might want to look at http://www.atic.ca. They seem to have the best prices and since they are based in Vancouver you can avoid PST if you buy out of province. They have the best prices I have seen usually.

I'd ditch the ThermalTake for the CoolerMaster HHC-001. Less expensive and more efficient. About $30

Personal choice, but I'd go with the Geforce TI4600. I was at a lanfest recently and 3 guys with ATI boards locked up repeatedly playing current titles...all patched and flashed to the gills too ;)
