i finally got my computer to boot up after i turned the hsf around the opposite way. The problem was the comp would bott then shut itself off in about 20 seconds. Now the problem is it says a media drive is in error, and I dont know what to do. I have a atlon 2100+ and it says it is running at a 1500+ also. And at startup it doesn't seem to recognize the ddr ram, it continues to have a "0" beside the words when i boot it up. It is a crucial 256 pc2100. It anyone has any ideas or solutions i would very much appreciate it. And any help with what to set the bios and jumpers at would also help.

you need to set your FSB to 133, thats why its reading 1500+. go into bios and then advanced chipset settings.it will auto recognize the ram.

You might want to manually set up your RAM in the bios.

The solution may be obvious, but I can't see it for the smoke coming off my processor.

The fsb jumper must first be set correctly 266/333. Then in the bios you need to check your settings to make sure they are right.

Try the aggressive settings for the memory. If that works great. You can optimize more if you want.

I have the same board, it defaults to 100 mhz the 1st time you boot. go into the bios and change it to 133. you can also set the cpu and ram interface settings to agressive. that is the easiest way to optomize it.

DO YOU THINK THAT THERE MAY BE A PROBLEM WITH THE MEMORY I INSTALLED (CRUCIAL PC2100 256MB) OR SHOULD IT WORK ITSELF OUT? ALSO DO YOU KNOW WHY THERE WOULD BE A MEDIA ERROR? I JUST WENT AND BOUGHT SOME NEW ROUND CABLES FOR THE DRIVES...SO.

What is the problem with the memory? what needs to be worked out, the media error? Im guessing it something to do with the floppy drive, just disable it for now to test it. I havnt had a floppy drive in about a year after it died.
