I would like to know what are the main advantages and disadvantages of having a dual processor system (real dual, not one hyper-threaded). And which are the best motherboards that support it. Is it even worth it?
Hehe, I guess I'll refrase it:
Are there any disadvantages in building a dual processor besides the price? Also are the Xeon processors any better than the regular P4s?
As far as I know the XEONS up to 2GHz were Williamette cored, so they would actually be a lesser processor than the Northwood cored desktop CPU, aka 1.6A, 1.8A, 2.0A.

It also must carry in consideration so that the dual system will be used, if the computer is going used for applications domestic, then, is disadvantage have one dual system. However if is going used for run weighed applications one dual system it can represent advantage.
