I was wondering how high you can overclock 2.4GHz. I have mine at 2.64GHz running mem @ 413MHz. My computer will crash if I set it any higher. Is this best I can do with this? I have Asus P4PE mobo.

hey, I have the 2.4a and can run it at 2.88 so you should be able to get that 2.4b much higher. try lowering your mem speed a bit first though, as you might be at the mem thresh hold already. also if possible on that board, try locking in the pci/agp at 33/66.then try increasing your fsb. sounds like something is holding that chip back, so start with that!! oh yeah increase v-core to max 1.75 first then turn it down a notch with every successful post till it freezes---then increase to last level.

hey, also check out overclockers.com "database", as there are a lot of 2.4b(533 fsb) overclocked to 3.0 and higher. there are a couple with the same mobo as you and are running at 2.7---2.9........check it out!!!

My core voltage is 1.7volts. If I had it up as high as 1.8v, however, computer crashes due to heat problem. I have retail 2.4. Heat sink came with heat pad. Would arctic silver compound be better? My friend just got a tube and will give me the leftovers *^^*
