It turns out my GF2MX400 is 64-bit instead of 128 bit. The guys over at MadOnion.com forums say the newer GF2's are being made as 64-bit and suck compared to the older ones. Time to get a new card. If anyone is considering a GF2MX as a temp card, be sure that it's 128-bit. I had no idea.

64 Bit GF2MX400's use DDR memory and 128 Bit cards use SDR. So both are same

What is your graphics card brand?

BTW, are you sure that you turned off Anti-Aliasing and Anisotrpic filtering?

I have a Palit-Daytona GF2 MX400...........

I think the problem is that it is a newer card, and it has 64-bit SDRAM.......cheaply-made, and I believe this is the reason for my slow performance. I have all of the latest drivers installed, a clean OS install, and the problem persists. It must be the 64-bit RAM. I'm getting a new card.

Is your card much cheaper than a good brand card (e.g. ASUS, MSI)?

It was about $38 from NewEgg.Com

I'm pretty sure it's just a weak card, largely due to the 64-bit SDR.....

I'm thinking I will buy a new card when the GF FX is released......prices on other cards should drop a bit when those FX cards come out.

So it's a lame card. MSI GF2 MX400 costs $58 with 64 MB VRAM and TV output

Before you trash the card you should try it in another system. This score just does not sound right at all. I have an old Geforce 2 GTS w/32mb and am getting over 4000 3d mark on an athlon xp 1800+ system. Drop it in another computer, install WHQL drivers, install 3d mark 2001 SE( with the patch!!!) and run it. It sounds like a driver issue
