Just wondered if it is true that US citizens sleep with a shotgun under their pillow. What do you use them for?

I'm not in the U.S. but I have a potato launcher, if that counts. It looks like a bazooka, and it's about three and a half feet long. You hold it like a bazooka too. I won't go into detail about how you load it but it's one sweet piece of crap. IT can shoot a potato like 600 feet, which isn't that bad for something three.five feet long.

haha... i used to have a potatoe launcher.....

damn, i could really use it now.....(hate the neighbours)

In the US and have no guns. Probably never will.

A computer is a much more powerful weapon now a days.

Paintball is awsome.

Combat simulation is better though! http://www.crosswinds.net/~ahorrocks/combat.html

I'm planning to go down to California sometime in March or April and have a ball

Just wondering, Does anyone make a True titanium(the high quality stuff not the mixed down stuff) samurai sword?

Are you kidding about the potato launcher? I feel quite disappointed. In Spain nobody but retired policemen and so on own weapons and you just can get a licence if you want to hunt, I don't want to buy a weapon.

But I found about two years ago a surprising fact. In the Spanish equivalent of Mark & Spencer's stores I found that they had an M16A1 exposed in the fishing and hunting section and it wasn't a fake one.

No joking about the potato launcher. It's real. At night time you can see like three foot flames from that baby.

Reply to Grizely1

I forgot something. Grizely1, that link you posted is cool. That Horrocks man is completely mad. He takes paintball too seriously. His wife will be quite upset when she is about to clean his DPM clothes.

I personally do not own a gun, but I have fired many guns, from cival war guns and muzzel loaders to high powered rifles pistols etc. I was brought up around them, never been hunting, no desire, but gone to many shooting ranges. They are fun in that aspect, but I don't think everyone needs one. Of course it's a protected right, so sure everyone can hav guns, but I think bullets should be harder to get especially ones used in exotic weaponry and hand guns. How many people get killed each year from high powered deer rifles unless in hunting accidents? Very few. Hand guns are made for one thing only- defense against other people, or offense for that matter.

Handguns are for defense. They're aim is too crappy for offense (except the extended barrel ones)

Reply to Grizely1

Tell that to all the people that use them in drive by's, and tell that to cops that use them both ways, and tell it to all the people who get shot every year for drugs or the shoes thay have on their feet. I'm not saying they're ideal strategic weapons of war, but in urban USA they seem to do just fine offensively.

I'm saying when you're making a rush, you don't use a pistol or you're dead.

Reply to Grizely1

Can you link me to a photograph of a potato launcher?
Do you think you could shot down a plane with a potato?
Are there heat-seeking potatoes?
And radar guided ones?

Reply to Anonymous

Of course who wouldn't prefer an m-60. I'm just saying in the US less people are killed by "preferred" weapons than handguns every year.

I used to have a 9mm Luger, owned by a officer in the Waffen SS, Hitlers personal guard, original condition, all numbers matched, even had a original box of ammo for it, My Girlfriend said that evil waves eminated from it, she was sorta psychic, and made me get rid of it, it cost me $800 and I sold it for $2500, so I made a good profit, but I wish I still had it, The workmanship was incredible

I will try to find a picture on the 'net of one like mine.

Holy macaroni!!!

You can kill rhinos with these ones.

I may stop overclocking things and start making potato launchers.

I own 6 shotguns and 2 handguns. I use the hand guns for sport, we have a cabin 200 miles north of the twin cities. I use it for target practice and the shotguns i use for both deer and duck hunting. Please save that "save the animals" crap too. FYI: by hunting Deer and Duck in MN we are decreasing the overpopulated animals. Last year the deer almost killed themselves off up here, they all are concentrated in a few areas so they all ate all the vegetation and they started starving. Same thing can happen with ducks.

You hunt deer with a shot gun? Isn't that sloppy? I myself hunt hunters(them dumb drunk F%$#s in orange) with my Remington semi-auto rifle. If we don't kill them, then they will just overpopulate and end up killing themselves.

I think a hick judge put it best 'several generations of imbecels is more than should be tolerated' - he used it as an excuse for eugenics. I use it to describe the generations of hunters our society has had to deal with over time.

Reply to Anonymous

So are you saying we should systematicly kill off the deer instead of hunt them and eat them? Have you ever heard of slugs? It is when they rifle the barrel of a shotgun and you shoot larger slugs vs. small bb's. Very effective. I don't apreciate the imbicel comment, should I take your post as a threat?

Well let me put it to you this way. If I were to be driving through the country one night with my trusty sidearm. And happened to fall upon a couple drunk hunters meandering through the forest dragging a buck to there Hick Truck.
And then they asked for some help- I wouldn't give it to them but I would give them some ...

Well you get the picture.

Ha ha, I am kind of laughing because it sounds like you are trying to say you would bend them over and let them take it. That is really gross.

Not like you need to know, I go to school where there is a large gay population which I am not too comfortable with. I do have a girlfriend and I am very in love so, if you are asking if I am homosexual, that would be a no to your question. I think that is a personal preference. I do not condone it but "to each their own"

That is mighty politically correct of you. I totally agree, to each his own, until it starts to adversly affect others.

Does your girlfriend know that you kill bambies mother on a regular basis?

Reply to Anonymous

I am glad you think that you don't agree with killing animals for inhumane purposes. Neither do I. My girlfriend is not a huge fan of guns but hasn't grown up around them. She trusts my judgement and I justify that when I hunt (i can only speak for myself) I do it for both sport and for reducing population. If it was truly ethicaly wrong thing to do then it would be questioned by the law. The gov't may want to take away handguns but they all agree with hunting because in places like MN there is a HUGE populus of deer. Do you know that people die in crashes when deer run out in front of cars? I should know, one of my relatives is dead because of it. This is no way for me to get revenge but for me to do my part in population reduction. I invite you to take a drive through aitkin, MN and not see at least 5 deer run right out in front of you. If you 4-wheel you'll see all the deer practically on top of each other becasue there is so many of them

Reply to seanmcne

LOL, wish I could get a potatoe launcher here, all we had was these pathetic spud guns which you push into the potatoe, and it fires a small pellet that gets stuck in the barrel.

I have used a gun, but there isn't much call for killing wild animals these days, even in New Zealand. The Police don't even carry guns as standard, only when there is an armed call out.

Reply to Anonymous

Overpopulation-thats what happens when people kill all the predators(i.e. wolves, cougars etc.). It still does not make killing for sport or population control ehtical.

Ethically your state govenor should reintroduce a wolf population, ohh but wait, that would piss off all the ranch owners. We can't have that. I think these are the same bozos that think an M-60 with a granade launcher is a hunting rifle(if you want to hunt WWII Panzer tanks).

Look dude, I like guns for target practice, and if the need arises, self defense but hunting an animal for sport or because of wildlife mismanagment is no excuse.

"shotgun under their pillow"??? what dreadful country are YOU from?

that would very uncomfortable, a handgun fits better under the pillow!

I respect your opinion, I dont know anyone that hunts with an M-60 myself. Are you a true vegetarian? That means no leather shoes or anything. All organic, no meat. I know someone like that, they had to stop because they were dying. they didn't have proper nourishment... Now my point is that I had to remodel an office of a slaughter house. They had very small pens of cattle(very small) they fatten them up make them sit in pens for a few days then they shoe them in by using proders, after that they bring them into a metal box where a rabai would slice their throat and let them die. I would rather hunt a deer shoot it kill it and eat it than know what happens to beef before you eat it. I would rather people hunt with guns that with bow and arrows, better shot more kills less suffering. As for the governer thing, I know Jesse personaly from going to school with him as our football trainer, he is pretty cool but isn't the brightest bulb on the tree.

I'm required to own one. Compliments of the US Government. Standard issue M9 (Baretta 9mm pistol).

Reply to mpjesse

Which Baretta? Most of them suck, but I'm just wondering.

Reply to Grizely1

Baretta sucking?!?!!? Your nuts man! In my opinion it's one of the best mass manufactured pistols. It's the cougar BTW. =)

-MP Jesse

Reply to mpjesse

Sorry I was talking about the Baretta 92FS.

Reply to Grizely1

I see... I don't know much about other models. I know the one the US military uses is a good weapon- I used to carry one as an M.P.

-MP Jesse

Reply to mpjesse

Well I suppose I would take an FS if it was given to me, but it's quite underpowered. The only positive thing is it's 16 round magazine (I believe, maybe 14? Not sure)

Reply to Grizely1

I am not an US citizen, but it is good idea for me to have a shotgun (Barret, M60) under a pillow. Sometimes fateh & tanzim assholes shoting on my window (allways miss till now).
The problem is that i am waking up too late , so i can't go to goverment offices to register.
I could use some advice , what is better, Beretta? or Zigzawer?

believe it or not my brother owns a gun range. he also sells guns and rifles at the range. i've shot target with all kinds of guns. you should see some of the rifles the people bring in. makes me think that americans are ready for war. i shot one round with the ssg552 commando, and it recoiled and knocked the wind out of me for a good 5 minutes.

so don't fu#k with us americans... we pack deadly weapons.

Forget the potato launcher-My 30-06 will literally rip right through a bullet proof vest-something important according to the Second Amendmant. What political thoerist failed to mention is that the second amendment was meant to protect us from powers WITHIN as well as without. You see, they understood that when the government has all the "power" and the citizens have none, there is always room for corruption to lead to dictatorship. The people who wrote the Consitution were fresh off the heals of a war with England-THEIR OWN GOVERNMENT-when they founded this one. So they were making sure that We the People would have this ability in the future if needed. Now, my parents live in the country, I only ever use my rifle for target practice in the country, therefor I leave it there. I do not believe that the people of this nation will need to rise up against our own government during my lifetime, but it is important for me to know that if the need ever does arise, our nation will have the ability.

Reply to Crashman

BTW-I think handguns are for thugs and people afraid of thugs. The best weapon for home defense is a semi-automatic rifle. The best weapon for hunting is a bolt action rifle. But if anyone wants to use a semi-auto for hunting-well, it could be handy if the animal is injured by the first round but still keeps running. So it makes me hot under the collar when the govenment tries to enact a ban on certain types of rifles which should be considered perfect for the use that our forefathers intended.
