Shutdown probs

Does anyone have any idea why windows XP Pro would hang on the shutdown screen? I have tried a few recommended registry tweaks to no avail..... I was thinking of going through the services next........... anyone have any suggestions? Its a 1.7 mhz, seimans mamaboard, intel 845 chipset running XP pro.
Any help would be appreciated

It could be a driver, have you installed any lately, also check for updates.

thx but all drivers in this machine are the ones that come with windows. I hope it is not that, or will have to go through a lot of drivers

your bios? try set the power management to control by APM and make sure your supply power is ATX type.
