only old cards like a TNT2 or a Kyro2 would have a 3.3v... this is another way of saying AGP 2x...
1.5v is used in all AGP 4/8x cards so you will be fine...

is it summer already ??? oh, its just the heat haze coming off my PC...

The connector and the signal are described as 1.5V and 3.3V. Although AGP8X runs at 0.8V. The motherboard is giving you the connector, not the signal, specification.

The solution may be obvious, but I can't see it for the smoke coming off my processor.
