Looking for a netbook/notebook under or around 700

1. What is your budget? At or around 700 at most

2. What is the size of the notebook that you are considering? Any size will do

3. What screen resolution do you want? Bigger is better but any res works

4. Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop? Desktop replacement...I also plan on getting a portable hard drive for storgae

5. How much battery life do you need? Will be used plugged in most of the time. 3 hours or even less is fine

6. Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)? I want to be able to play games like amnesia the dark decent, portal, and online flash games on low or medium without issues

7. What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo/Video editing, Etc.) I am using the laptop mainly for music recording and school work

8. How much storage (Hard Drive capacity) do you need? I am getting a portable 1 tb one. Size is not a problem

11. What kind of Optical drive do you need? DVD ROM/Writer,Bluray ROM/Writer,Etc ? Basic, CD writer.

12. Please tell us about the brands that you prefer to buy from them and the brands that you don't like and explain the reasons. I don't want acer. prefer brands with stronger name to them but that is just preferance

13. What country do you live in? USA

14. Please tell us any additional information if needed. I plan on using the laptops for basic gaming and music recording. I want to be able to run a few things and a midi off of it at once.

    $50 cheaper, dedicated graphics card and larger screen. Downside is you lose your blue-ray player.

    Also comes with ASUS' free 1 year Accidental Damage Warranty.

    Highly recommend ASUS; Good performance/price and an accidental warranty complementary... don't mind if I do ;)
  2. That ASUS is one of the best you can get. The one that was recommended to you before won't be able to game it only have the built in graphics.
