w()()t!

the 8500 was a magnificent work of art, and many people missed it to go with theyre precious Nvidia..

if only the drivers had been good from launch. IMO, the 8500 architecture beats the GF3 in all areas.. it was truly the best card of its day.

Since its release I've felt the 8500 was a nice card. For me it marked the point at which I started to pay real attention to ATI cards. And these days, it's an awesome value.

Speaking of which, I just got my 8500le and love it. :evil:

Old news and all the 9100's that I have seen listed so far have slow clocks, 250 Mhz core/230 Mhz memory. This is in 8500LE OEM territory. A 9000 PRO at 275/275 would be just as good, even a little better.

However, get the full fledged 8500s (275/275 or 250/275)while you still can.

99% is great, unless you are talking about system stability

No..No...The Radeon 9000 Pro is not as good as the 8500LE, especially the built by ATI 8500LE, the 8500LE comes 250/275 with 3.3ns memory and at default WOMPS on the 9000 Pro with it's castrated pixel pipeline. I had a Gigabyte Maya 9000Pro less than a month ago, and I returned it. Now I have an ATI 8500LE running at 290/300 and let me tell you, there is no comparison....over 1000 3D Marks difference...just because the 9000 is newer, and in the 9xxx series of cards, doesnt mean it's better. It's just advertising at work, and most enthusiast's know that....And by the way, the 9000 Pro that I bought was $130 bucks, and the 8500LE was on sale for $79 bucks...again, marketing plays a huge part in card prices. The AVERAGE customer would think that the 9000Pro is newer, hence better, and buy that card at the higher price..
